The floor rarely matches the system exactly. Fiftify expects that.
The bin is short
Section titled “The bin is short”If a bin holds fewer units than the order needs, pick what is actually there and complete the task anyway. Fiftify warns you before it closes:
Only 1 of 3 units are picked. The picked units will be packed now and this order will be split — the remaining 2 units stay in this pick to collect later.
So a short pick does not block the order. What you picked moves on to packing and ships; the remainder stays as outstanding work against the same order.
Reporting an issue
Section titled “Reporting an issue”The task menu carries a Report an issue action for the cases where the problem is the stock itself, not the count:
- Damaged stock — the units are there but not sellable
- Stock missing from bin — the bin should hold them and does not
- Wrong location — the goods are somewhere else
Reporting is what keeps the numbers honest: it records why the floor and the system disagreed, instead of leaving a silent discrepancy for a cycle count to find weeks later.
Pausing instead of finishing
Section titled “Pausing instead of finishing”Pause Packing (and the equivalent on a pick) puts the task on Hold and releases it. The work stays where you left it, and the task shows under the Hold tab for whoever picks it up next — better than leaving it In Progress under a name that has gone home.
The container is not empty
Section titled “The container is not empty”Scanning a tote that already holds units of the same pick raises a question rather than guessing:
That container is not empty — it already holds n units of this pick. Did you move them, or is this a second container?
Answer Transfer everything if the goods were moved, or Keep and add if you are genuinely using a second container for the same pick.
When stock does not add up
Section titled “When stock does not add up”Two symptoms, two different causes:
- The bin is empty but Fiftify says otherwise — the on-hand figure is stale. Report the issue from the task so it gets corrected.
- Fiftify will not let you pick although stock exists — the units are likely in a different bin than the task expects. The item line can be pointed at the bin that actually holds them.
