Inventory is not syncing

Published

Stock changes in Fiftify but the channel still shows the old number — or the other way round. Work through these in order; the first two account for most cases.

1. A channel location is not mapped to a warehouse

Section titled “1. A channel location is not mapped to a warehouse”

This is by far the most common cause, and Fiftify says so on the channel’s settings page:

Some locations are not mapped to a warehouse. Inventory sync is disabled for unmapped locations.

That is not a warning to work around — it is a statement of behaviour. An unmapped location does not sync, at all.

Fix: Settings → Warehouses, open the warehouse the location belongs to, and Map Location. See channel settings and locations.

An unlinked listing has nothing behind it. Fiftify can show it to you, but it has no stock to report, because no product is attached.

Check: the Linked column on the channel’s listings. A struck-through link means unlinked.

Fix: link a listing to a product.

With quantity tracking off, the channel is deliberately not counting this product, and Fiftify will not push a number for it.

Check: the product’s Inventory tab, Track Qty column.

That is the correct setting for made-to-order and drop-shipped goods. If the product is neither, turn it on. See the product page.

Open the notifications panel. A sync notification carries its result — 24 succeeded, 2 failed. Two failures out of twenty-four is a per-listing problem; twenty-four out of twenty-four is a connection problem.

See notifications.

Channels expire their authorisations. A channel whose connection has lapsed stops syncing entirely and cannot be fixed from the listings screen.

Fix: reconnect it, following connect a sales channel. Reconnecting picks up the existing records rather than duplicating them.

Check the inventory log with the Sync filter. If channel changes are arriving but yours are not going out, the problem is outbound and points back to steps 1–3. If nothing is arriving either, it is the connection.

Common questions

Why is my inventory not syncing to my sales channel?
The most common cause by far is a channel location that is not mapped to a warehouse, and an unmapped location does not sync at all. After that, check that the listing is linked to a product and that Track Qty is on for that product.
Why does one product never update on the channel while the rest do?
Its listing is probably not linked to a product, or Track Qty is off for it. An unlinked listing has nothing behind it to report, and a product with quantity tracking off is deliberately not counted.
The last sync says some listings failed. What does that mean?
A few failures out of many is a per-listing problem, usually an unlinked listing or a product with tracking off. Failures on every listing point at the channel connection instead.
Do I have to reconnect a channel whose authorisation expired?
Yes. A lapsed connection stops syncing entirely and cannot be fixed from the listings screen. Reconnecting picks up the existing records rather than duplicating them.
